DeLuna Coronation Ball and BreakfastDon Tristan DeLuna, Pensacola's first citizen, is remembered each year during the Fiesta of Five Flags celebration. For the past 60 years, his presence has been honored with a gala Coronation and elegant Sponsors’ Ball. This year, DeLuna was crowned in a colorful ceremony at Pensacola Civic Center. The pageantry of the evening included a procession by the Children of the Court who accompanied DeLuna and his Queen to their throne. Fiesta sponsors and Court family members observed as Knights and Princesses payed homage to DeLuna and his Queen. Special guests included many former DeLunas and Queens, as well as dignitaries from the Springtime Tallahassee Festival, the Hernando De Soto Heritage Festival in Bradenton and the Billy Bowlegs Festival in Fort Walton Beach. Many local dignitaries were in attendance to help celebrate one of the most opulent events in the Pensacola area. After the Coronation pageant, a bountiful breakfast was served to honored guests of the ball in the DeLuna Room. A special thanks to our sponsor Woerner Turf. |
